The feeding system comprised of the VP 2011 bin tipper and the VZ 2400 vibratory bowl feeder is designed to transfer billets from pallet bin to the induction heater. Using a forklift, the operator inserts the pallet bin into the bin recieving frame. Pushing a button activates the raising of the platform. After the platform reaches is uppermost height, it begins to rotate, and this causes the billets to spill from the the bin into the VZ 2400 vibratory bowl feeder. From the bowl feeder, the billets move along a corkscrew path located on the inside of the drum walls until they reach the output port. Located on the corkscrew path are four navigating trims that correctly orient the billets end-to-end. When a billet is incorrectly oriented, it is removed from the corkscrew track back into the bottom of the bowl feeder.
