The heater was reconstruction for the HKS Forge s.r.o. Trnava and is designed for the induction heating of cross-sectionally round steel billets up to forging temperatures. The reason for reconstruction was to complete the heated billets sorter. The sorter consists of a chute through which the correctly heated billets slide in a stright direction into a press. If the billets are overheated or vice versa underheated they fall out on a sloping chute and to a conveyer. From it they are carried by two chains to the end of the conveyer where they are sorted out with a mechanical flap into particular pallets.
The temperature of each billet is measured by a non-contact pyrometer and the date/time stamp and temperature value can be saved to the PLC memory.
During the reconstruction the thyristor frequency converter was replaced by a new type of converter.
