Mid-frequency Iinduction Hardening Device was designed in cooperation with Martenzit Ltd. It is used for hardening train bumpers. Higher frequency was used for heating the hardened surfaces to reduce mechanical deformations of bumper bodies. Hardening device SIKZ 160/12 consists of a mechanism for the input of hardened components and a mechanism for motion of inductor, transistor frequency converter, three-phase transformer, water management system and inductor.
The operator puts the hardened component on the working desk which is in its starting position outside the hardening device. After putting the hardenend component on, the operator shifts the desk into the hardening device. When the ´START´ button is pushed the fully automatic hardening process begins including the inductor motion on the surface of the hardened component. When the hardening is finished and the component subsequently cooled to a temperature suitable for further manipulation, the working desk moves out of the hardening device to its starting position. Here the operator puts the hardened component out, puts another one in and the whole cycle repeats.
The control system of the device controls all hardening parameters during the hardening process. If any parameter exceeds its range the operator is informed about a fault in the hardening cycle.
