Thyristor frequency converter has been made for Škoda Auto a.s., Mladá Boleslav. Together with three-phase separating transformer and the load of a parallel oscillatory circuit, which is induction billet heater SOP 1000/1,5/0,8, it is used for induction heating of steel billets up to forging temperature.
Thyristor frequency converter consists of input power circuit breaker, controlled rectifier, smoothing choke, current inverter, and overvoltage protections. The operation of the frequency converter is ensured by operating system consisting of regulator, converters and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). Internal water cooling system is used for cooling electronic and other parts of power circuits of frequency converter.
