Induction heater made for Řetězárna Česká Třebová Ltd. is used for induction heating of blanks „L" 700 ÷ 1300 mm up to forging temperature. It consists of input and output mechanisms, a heater box, inductors, a frequency converter (which is placed in a separate box) and a three-phase transformer. The induction heater is designed with two paths (left and right ones). The cold blanks (semi finished products) are put alternately into the right input bed or the left one by either an operator or a manipulator. In a heating cycle the electric pressure bar alternately pushes the blanks over their entire length into the right or the left inductor. At the same time, with the insertion of a cold blank into the inductor, another heated blank is pushed out on the output side and moved onto the right or left output chain conveyor. The conveyor moves the blank to the transfer point from where the operator or manipulator moves it for other processing. If the heated blank is not removed from the output chain conveyor in time, it is thrown down the off-chute into the transport pallet.
Connecting the inductors to the inlet and outlet of cooling water is done by means of quick couplers which enables their quick exchange for another type. At the same time, it is not necessary to discharge the coolant from the inductors into the sewer system. Thereby the operating costs of the cooling system are reduced. The electrical connection of the inductor is performed automatically when the main switch is turned on.
The heater is controlled by Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) made in Siemens. The control of the induction heater is done from the control box using the buttons and the communication panel. Heating parameters (required temperature, output etc.) are set on the communication panel. All failures of the heater are displayed in text on this panel, including the instructions for troubleshooting. The blank temperature inside the inductors is measured by a contactless pyrometer UPF V. The information about the temperature of each heated piece and the time of its dropping out of the inductor is passed to the higher control system.
